Service Terms and Conditions

AhCat agrees to provide agreed services in a manner that is trustworthy, caring and dependable. We will undertake to look after your pets in a responsible and professional manner. In return, by signing AhCat Service Agreement, you, the client and the pet owner, understand and accept the following terms and conditions:

  • You must have legal rights to place the animals in the care of pet sitters, dog walkers, kennels, and veterinary clinics. AhCat cannot service a home with "Visiting" pets or animals that do not belong to the resident of the service site without a separate services agreement form, accepted and signed by the rightful owner(s).
  • Payment: Full payment is due when the booking is confirmed if the total booking fee is less than $150. Otherwise: Pet Sitting & Casual Dog Walking: 50% deposit at time of client interview/ booking, balance payable is due by the first service day. Prepaid special rate passes are also available for sale. All passes are non-refunable and not redeemable for cash. Passholders must contact AhCat in advance to reserve our services. Availability is not guaranteed. Special rate passes are not valid for services on public holiday.
  • Reservations are not held until the deposit is fully received by AhCat except special arrangements were agreed in writing. A penalty late charge may be imposed upon service that is not paid by due date. Unpaid service may be cancelled without notice, including prior to or during the service period. AhCat reserves the right to refuse or cancel service if payment is not settled according to the above payment terms or by other agreed arrangement.
  • Keys pickup at an initial meeting and keeping with AhCat is free. All subsequent key pickups will incur extra charge for each pickup.
  • Cancellation Charge: 50% of the total booking fee if the service is cancelled less than four days prior to any service. (Except for Christmas and Easter period when the cancellation fee applies if the service is cancelled less than 10 days prior to the first service day.)
  • You agree to pay AhCat all pet transportation fees ($2.00 per km travelled) and the travel time ($20 per 15 minutes increment) when an emergency arises.
  • AhCat will undertake all necessary precautions and reasonable care with animals in its care as well as with your home and contents. However, AhCat accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to any property or any content that occurs while under this contract. AhCat will attempt to contact you or, if you are not contactable, the emergency contact before making a decision on dealing with the problem. Reasonable steps will be undertaken to protect property and if necessary police will be contacted. You agree to secure your home prior to leaving the premises. AhCat will re-secure the home to the best of its ability at the end of each visit. All repairs and related fees will be paid by you, or fully reimbursed to AhCat within seven days.
  • Your pet(s) should be vaccinated, wormed and flea treated (including bedding). You are responsible for pet-proofing house, yard, and the security fences/gates/latches. AhCat is not be responsible for the safety of any pets, for any pre-existing condition for any animal under its care and is not be liable for the death, injury, disappearance, or legal consequences of any pet.
  • AhCat is authorized to seek any emergency veterinarian assistance needed during visits, at your costs, from any veterinarian chosen by AhCat if your appointed veterinarian is unavailable. The Term "emergency" is to be interpreted and undertaken at AhCat's discretion.
  • You are responsible for supplying the necessary, safe equipment/supplies needed for care of your pet(s). You authorize any purchases necessary for the satisfactory performance of duties. You agree to reimburse AhCat the payment of such item(s) and the travelling expenses within seven days for all purchases made.
  • At the time that service is booked, you will notify AhCat of everyone who has been granted access to the home during the service period. For liability and safety reasons, AhCat will not enter your house if someone is presented at your home.
  • AhCat is not responsible for wilted, dead or otherwise unhealthy plants. All indoor plants should be placed together on a waterproof surface in plain sight, as AhCat is not responsible for water damaged areas or missed plants.
  • You will be responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to any person by your pet(s). You agree to release and hold AhCat harmless for any and all claims of any kind, including bodily injury or damage to yourself, other persons, animals, or property.
  • The signed AhCat Services Agreement permits AhCat to accept all future telephone, online, mail or email reservations and provide services without additional signed agreements.
  • AhCat Services Agreement is valid from the date signed, and replaces any prior agreements.
  • Email addresses given on AhCat Services Agreement are added to our mailing list so that you can be kept up to date with informative articles, promotions, new services and events. They are kept confidential and will never be sold or given to any third party. AhCat can remove your email address from the list at any time upon your request should you not wish to receive any newsletter.
  • AhCat may vary the terms and conditions in connections with the services provided at any time, and service rates are subject to changes sometimes without personal notice.
